Terms of Service

Cloth Goblin is a map-based directory of thrift stores, donation sites, and donation centers. We currently focus on locations that sell or accept secondhand and vintage clothing and accessories. Stores devoted exclusively to antique or vintage furniture are out of scope for now, though locations that carry both clothing and furniture remain eligible (see the "Also Furniture" community tag). We plan to expand to dedicated antique and furniture listings in a future release.

Some shops in scope operate beautifully without a website or social media presence, which makes it harder for us to confirm details like hours, location accuracy, or whether the business is still active. Locations without an online footprint may take longer to appear on the map. If your shop fits our scope and isn’t yet listed, we’re glad you exist — please reach out at support@clothgoblin.com and we’ll work to get you on the map.

We provide this service on a best-effort basis. Location data may be inaccurate or out of date — always verify directly with a store before visiting.

Availability and changes. We may change, suspend, or withdraw the Service, or any feature of it, at our discretion. We may restrict access to parts of the Service, and we may do maintenance that takes it offline. We will not be liable if the Service is unavailable at any time or for any period. Features described in these Terms may be added, changed, or retired as the product develops.

• You must be 13 or older to create an account.
• The information you give us when you register must be accurate, current, and complete, and you agree to keep it up to date. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy.
• Your account is personal to you. Keep your password and any other login credentials confidential, do not share them, and do not let anyone else use your account. Sign out when you finish a session, and take particular care on a shared or public device.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at support@clothgoblin.com as soon as you suspect any unauthorized access or other breach of security.
• You may not create accounts for others without their permission, and you may not create accounts to evade a suspension or to obtain repeated trials or offers.
• Display names must not contain profanity, slurs, or otherwise vulgar, offensive, or misleading language. We reserve the right to change display names that violate this policy without notice.
• We may disable any username, password, or other identifier — whether you chose it or we issued it — at any time if, in our judgement, you have breached these Terms.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts at our sole discretion for violating these Terms, including but not limited to: offensive display names, abusive behavior, spam submissions, or attempts to circumvent the service. Suspended or terminated accounts forfeit any remaining subscription time and are not entitled to refunds.

Free (Thrifter) Tier: Creating an account is free and includes full access to the map, basic filters, and the ability to suggest locations (subject to our moderation and community guidelines). No payment method is required.

Goblin Trial (30 days): New accounts receive a one-time, 30-day trial of Goblin community features at no charge and with no payment method required. When the trial ends, your account automatically returns to the free Thrifter tier — you are never charged unless you separately start a paid subscription. The trial is limited to one per person; we may withhold or revoke trials from accounts created to obtain repeated trials. We may change or discontinue the trial program for new signups at any time.

Goblin Subscription ($2.99/month or $19.99/year): Grants Goblin community features (reactions, favorites, Travel Lists, and all map filters). Monthly plans renew monthly and annual plans renew yearly until cancelled. First-time subscribers on the monthly plan may receive a free first month (see Introductory Pricing below); the annual plan is billed in full at the start of each yearly period. Cancel any time via your account settings, the platform's subscription settings, or by emailing us.

Legacy Thrifter Unlock ($1 one-time — no longer sold): Before July 2026, full map access was sold as a one-time $1 unlock (on the web) or included with the paid mobile app. Map access is now included free with every account, so legacy purchasers have lost nothing: their access continues, and any unredeemed $1 web unlock credit remains eligible toward a first website subscription month under the Map Unlock Credit terms below.

Org Dashboard Subscription ($6.99/month): Allows your organization (thrift store, donation center, or charity) to manage and list locations on the map. Renews monthly. Cancel any time via your account settings or by emailing us.

Map Unlock Credit: If you purchased the $1 web (Stripe) Thrifter Unlock and later start a Goblin or Org Dashboard subscription through our website, we'll automatically apply your $1 as a one-time credit toward your first month of that subscription. The credit is single-use per unlock: if you subscribe, cancel, and resubscribe, the credit is not reapplied on the second subscription. The credit only applies to subscriptions started through our website (Stripe); subscriptions started through the iOS App Store or Google Play are processed separately by those platforms and the credit cannot be applied to them. We may discontinue this credit at any time; any unredeemed credit that existed before the change will still be honored on your next website subscription start.

Goblin → Org Upgrade Credit: If you hold an active Goblin subscription started through our website (Stripe) and upgrade to an Org Dashboard subscription through our website, we'll automatically apply a one-time $4.99 credit toward your first month of the Org subscription, and your Goblin subscription will be cancelled immediately at the moment the Org subscription activates (the credit compensates the unused Goblin time — Org includes every Goblin feature, so nothing is lost). The credit applies once per upgrade and only to upgrades processed through our website; subscriptions billed by the iOS App Store or Google Play handle plan changes through those platforms' own proration rules instead (for example, on iOS an upgrade takes effect immediately and Apple automatically refunds the unused, prorated portion of the lower-tier subscription). We may discontinue this credit at any time for future upgrades.

Plan Changes (Org → Goblin): Org Dashboard subscribers billed through our website (Stripe) may switch down to a Goblin subscription from the Account page. The switch takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep full Org Dashboard access until then, and from the next billing cycle onward you are charged the Goblin price ($4.99/month) instead of the Org price ($6.99/month). Your organization's locations remain listed on the map, but you will no longer be able to manage them until you re-subscribe to the Org tier. You can undo a scheduled switch any time before it takes effect. Subscriptions billed by the iOS App Store or Google Play change plans through those platforms' subscription settings instead.

Introductory Pricing: We may offer introductory pricing on subscriptions from time to time (for example, a free or discounted first month). Introductory prices apply only to the period stated in the offer; the standard monthly price applies from the following billing cycle. Eligibility for introductory offers on iOS and Android is determined by Apple and Google respectively, and introductory offers may not be available in every country or region — local platform price tiers can make a discount unavailable in some storefronts, in which case the standard price applies from the first billing cycle. The price shown on the platform's purchase sheet at the time of purchase is the price that applies.

Cancellation Policy: When you cancel a subscription, your subscription benefits remain active until the end of the current billing period. No partial-month refunds are issued. After the billing period ends, your account will revert to a standard Thrifter account with map access intact (Goblin and Center subscribers receive map access as part of their subscription and retain it even after cancellation, unless they cancel their account entirely).

Account Cancellation: You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. Cancelling your account will permanently delete your data and revoke all access, including map access. Any active subscription will be cancelled at the end of the current billing period. Account cancellation is irreversible.

Your statutory rights. Nothing in this section takes away a refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer law where you live — for example the 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract in the UK, EU, and EEA, or the consumer guarantees in Australian Consumer Law. Where a purchase was billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores handle refunds under their own policies, and we cannot issue or reverse a charge we never received.

• Any signed-in account may suggest locations, with no limit on how many. Suggesting a shop is how the map grows, so it is not something we ration.
• Org Dashboard accounts may add their own locations directly.
• Submitted locations are reviewed before appearing on the map. We review as quickly as we can, but we do not promise a turnaround time.
• We may reject or remove submissions that are inaccurate, inappropriate, or duplicates.
• Locations associated with individuals, businesses, or organizations that appear on the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, or on comparable sanctions lists maintained by the United Nations, European Union, United Kingdom, or other governments, are not eligible for inclusion. We may remove such listings at any time without notice.
• By submitting a location you grant us a license to display that information publicly, on the terms in Section 7.

Goblin and Org Dashboard accounts — including while a Goblin trial is running — may suggest community tags for locations (for example: "Nonprofit", "Luxury Vintage", "Upcycles", "Online Store", or "Also a Drop Site"). Tags help other users discover what makes a location special.

• Tag suggestions are reviewed by our team before being applied to a location.
• We may reject suggestions that are inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate.
• Approved tags are displayed publicly on the location's listing.
• We reserve the right to add, remove, or modify tags on any listing at our sole discretion.
• Submitting a tag suggestion does not guarantee it will be approved or displayed.

We may, at our discretion:

• Remove, refuse to publish, or edit any Contribution, for any reason or none.
• Take any action we consider appropriate about a Contribution that we believe breaches these Terms, infringes someone's rights, threatens anyone's safety, or could create liability for us.
• Disclose your identity or other information about you to anyone who claims that something you posted violates their rights, to the extent permitted by law and consistent with our Privacy Policy.
• Take legal action, including referring a matter to law enforcement, over any unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service.
• Suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service for any breach of these Terms.

We do not pre-screen everything. We review location and tag suggestions before they appear on the map, but we do not undertake to review every Contribution before it is posted, and we cannot guarantee that objectionable material will be removed promptly once it is. We accept no liability for any action or inaction regarding content provided by a user or a third party, and nothing in this section creates a duty to monitor.

If you disagree with a decision. Email support@clothgoblin.com with the subject "Moderation Appeal" and tell us what was removed or restricted and why you think it should be restored. A person — not an automated system — will look at it and reply.

• Submit false, misleading, or spam location data.
• Submit, on behalf of, or seek inclusion of any individual, business, or organization that appears on the U.S. OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list or any comparable government sanctions list.
• Scrape or bulk-download map data via automated means, or use any robot, spider, or other automated device or process to access, monitor, or copy any part of the Service, except for search-engine crawlers obeying our robots file.
• Copy, extract, or reuse a substantial part of the location directory, or build or help build a competing directory or dataset from it.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, paywalls, or security measures, or access any account, server, or database connected to the Service without authorisation.
• Introduce any virus, worm, trojan, logic bomb, or other malicious or technologically harmful material.
• Use the Service in a way that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair it, or interfere with anyone else's use of it — including any denial-of-service attack.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Impersonate another person or organization.
• Use profane, vulgar, offensive, or discriminatory language in display names, comments, or submissions.
• Harass, bully, or target other users of the service.

The Service and everything in it — its design, text, graphics, goblin artwork, photographs, software, and the selection and arrangement of the directory — is owned by Friar Tek, LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, database, and other laws. Location data submitted by users remains the factual record of that place; we do not claim copyright over factual address or business information.

What you may do. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. That includes the copies your browser or device makes automatically to display the Service, printing or saving a reasonable number of pages for your own reference, downloading one copy of our app to a device you control, and using any sharing feature in the way it is offered. Org Dashboard subscribers may also use their listing and its materials to promote their own business.

What you may not do. Do not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, republish, or transmit any part of the Service beyond what is described above. Do not use our illustrations or photographs apart from the text they appear with, and do not remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice.

If you use any part of the Service in breach of these Terms, your license ends immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies you made. No ownership passes to you, and every right we have not expressly granted is reserved. Want to use something of ours in a way this section doesn’t cover? Ask us at support@clothgoblin.com — for press, partnerships, and community projects the answer is often yes.

Cloth Goblin™, the goblin character and logo, Friar Tek, and our related names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Friar Tek, LLC. Please don’t use them without our written permission, and never in a way that suggests we endorse or are affiliated with you when we are not.

The Service is a directory, so it names a great many businesses. Store names, brands, and logos belonging to the locations we list are the property of their owners and are used to identify those businesses, not to claim any association with or endorsement by them. If you own a mark and would like a listing changed, email support@clothgoblin.com.

You are welcome to link to our homepage or to a location page, as long as you do it fairly and lawfully and do not suggest any association, approval, or endorsement by us that does not exist. Please don’t frame the Service, present it inside another site, or use it in a way that strips out our branding or attribution. We may ask you to take a link down, and may disable any sharing feature, at any time.

The Service also links out — to stores' own websites and social accounts, to mapping and directions providers, and to shops we feature. Those sites are not ours. We have no control over them and take no responsibility for their content or for any loss arising from your use of them; visit them at your own risk and on their terms.

Cloth Goblin carries a small sponsor placement on its website and earns commissions on some product links. We label paid placements and paid links, and we describe exactly what is and is not collected in Section 16 of our Privacy Policy.

• Commissions. If you buy something after clicking a paid link, the shop may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra and does not change the price you pay.
• Curation is editorial. We decide which shops and pieces to feature. Paying us does not guarantee a placement, and we feature unpaid shops on purpose.
• No endorsement or warranty. We do not sell, ship, or stand behind any advertiser’s goods, and we make no warranty about them, including any environmental or ethical claim the advertiser makes about itself.
• Disputes with advertisers. Problems with an order — delivery, refunds, product quality, customs, or duties — are between you and that seller.
• Availability. Featured items are often one of a kind and may sell out or be withdrawn at any time.
• Advertisers’ own creatives. Some sponsors supply a banner served by their affiliate network. It runs in a sandboxed frame, subject to your advertising choice, and the network’s own privacy policy governs what it does. You can switch these off at any time — see the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Without limiting the foregoing, Cloth Goblin and Friar Tek, LLC specifically disclaim the following:

• Location experiences: We are not responsible for your experience at any thrift store, donation site, donation center, or other location listed on the service, including but not limited to: safety, cleanliness, pricing, inventory availability, quality of merchandise, or conduct of staff or other visitors. You visit any listed location entirely at your own risk.
• Mapping accuracy: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any location data, including but not limited to: addresses, map pin placement, coordinates, hours of operation, phone numbers, website URLs, or descriptions. Map pins are approximate. Always verify details directly with a location before visiting.
• Quality of goods: We are not responsible for the quality, condition, authenticity, safety, or value of any items found at, purchased from, or donated to any location listed on the service.
• No endorsement: Listing a location on Cloth Goblin does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, vetting, or certification of that location, organization, or business by Cloth Goblin or Friar Tek, LLC.
• Advertisers and linked shops: Sponsors, advertisers, and shops we link to are independent third parties. We are not responsible for their products, claims, pricing, shipping, returns, customer service, or compliance with any law. Purchases you make from them are between you and them. Any description of an advertiser or shop as sustainable, ethical, organic, secondhand, or similar reflects our own review of the information available to us — it is not a certification, guarantee, or independent audit.
• Personal safety and property: We are not responsible for any property damage, personal injury, theft, illness, or any other loss that occurs at, near, or during travel to or from any listed location.
• Donation organizations: Donation bin and donation center listings are informational only. We make no representations regarding the legitimacy, charitable status, tax-deductibility, or practices of any donation organization listed on the service.
• Third-party routing: The "Build My Route" feature and driving/walking/transit directions rely on Google Maps and other third-party services. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or safety of any driving directions, estimated travel times, or route suggestions provided by these services.
• User-submitted content: Locations may be submitted by community members. We do not independently verify all user-submitted location data and are not responsible for inaccuracies in community contributions.

Information on the Service is provided for general information only. We do not warrant its accuracy, completeness, or usefulness, and any reliance you place on it is at your own risk. Views expressed in user Contributions are those of the people who wrote them, not ours.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FRIAR TEK, LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE IT AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

This does not affect warranties that cannot be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or of implied consumer guarantees — including the UK, the EU and EEA, and Australia. Nothing here limits those rights, and where such a right applies, this section applies only to the extent the law allows.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Friar Tek, LLC and its officers, members, employees, contractors, and service providers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to damages arising from visiting locations listed on the service, and including loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, and even if the loss was foreseeable. Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You acknowledge that you use the information on Cloth Goblin at your own risk and that you are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on that information, including the decision to visit any location, purchase any item, or donate any goods. Friar Tek, LLC has no liability for any real-world interactions, transactions, or experiences at listed locations.

What this does not limit. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that does not allow some of these limitations, they apply to you only as far as that law permits.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, the European Union or European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your home courts or to the protection of your local consumer law, nothing in this section takes that right away.

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when we post them and apply to your use of the Service from that point on, and the date at the top of this page tells you when we last revised them. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice, and your continued use of the Service afterwards means you accept the revised Terms. A change to Section 19 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction) will not apply to a dispute either of us already knew about when the change was posted.

Price changes: If we increase the price of any subscription or in-app purchase, we will give you at least 14 days' notice before the new price takes effect for existing subscribers. Price decreases or promotional pricing take effect immediately and do not require advance notice.

• Entire agreement. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms you accept for a particular feature (such as the Org Dashboard agreement) are the whole agreement between you and Friar Tek, LLC about the Service, and replace anything said or written before.
• Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in full force.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of it or of any other provision, and it does not stop us from enforcing it later.
• Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms are between you and us, and do not give rights to anyone else — except that Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of the app store terms that apply to purchases made through them.
• Survival. Sections 7, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, and 23 survive the end of your account or of this agreement.
• Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control, including outages at our hosting, mapping, or payment providers.

The Service is operated by Friar Tek, LLC, Georgia, United States.
